Zinio - Create Account Instructions (printable pdf file)
Digital magazines require Internet access and a VLS library card to set up an account. Internet access is required to download a new issue. The digital magazine link above will connect you to the zinio website. After an account has been established, digital magazines can be accessed and read on the following devices: computers; tablets (including iPads); eReaders (including Kindles) and smart phones. Each of these devices must have Internet access to download new issues. Most devices have zinio apps that allow users to create a reader on their devices. Magazines are downloaded to the reader and remain there until deleted. Each issue can be checked out simultaneously by multiple library users. Downloaded magazines can be kept as long as the user chooses without penalty or fines.
Downloadable audio books require access to a computer, a listening device (e.g. MP3 player) and the cord that connects the device to the computer. After clicking on the Overdrive link above, audiobooks are selected, placed in your cart, and checked out. After checkout the audiobook(s) can be downloaded to your listening device. The default loan period is 14 days. Users can also choose 7 days. Audiobooks cannot be returned before the due date.
Downloadable eBooks require Internet access to set up an account. Most tablets (including iPads) and smartphones (including iPhones) have apps that access Overdrive. The Overdrive link above includes instructions on installing eBooks on a laptop or desktop computer. The default loan period for eBooks is 14 days. Users can also choose 7 or 21 days. eBooks can be returned before the due date.
